Training recognition: the CSF launches a new platform to support industry training partners

Brokers, firms and training providers can now submit a joint application to the CSF and the Institut de planification financière

Montréal, May 7, 2025 - The Chambre de la sécurité financière (the “Chambre” or CSF) is simplifying and modernizing its training recognition process. Recently launched, the Training Partner Area allows training providers to submit their applications for recognition online.

Over fifty consultations and workshops were held with professional development managers, brokers and firms. This close collaboration with the industry has enriched the platform, which has now become a fully integrated, more efficient online service that facilitates trainer management and responds concretely to industry needs. At the same time, with the agreement of the Autorité des marchés financiers, the CSF has strengthened the rigor of its training recognition processes, again with a view to protecting consumers.

“The creation of the Training Partner Area is a major project that we developed in collaboration with key industry players to meet the needs of the CSF and make its processes simpler and more fluid,” says Marie Elaine Farley, President and CEO of the CSF. “The significant efficiency gains generated by the platform will enable our specialists to focus more on value-added services for the industry.”

Partnership between the CSF and the Institut de planification financière for the benefit of the industry

The CSF and the Institut de planification financière (Institut) have also set up a technology bridge for the benefit of the industry and financial planners who are members of the CSF. This new channel enables the industry to submit an application for recognition jointly to the CSF and the Institut, directly via the Training Partner Area. The reverse is also true, since it will be possible to apply for accreditation from both organizations via the Institute's electronic form. In this way, the complementary criteria required by both organizations can now be met in a single process.

This synergy between the CSF and the Institut represents a major efficiency gain for all suppliers offering training activities to professionals working in more than one field of activity covered by the CSF, including financial planning. It also illustrates the importance of applying comparable quality standards across disciplines, and ensuring a consistent experience for partners. In this way, the CSF's multidisciplinary approach helps to maintain rigorous criteria for the supervision of continuing education in its areas of expertise, while promoting complementarity with continuing education requirements in financial planning. This integrated vision supports the harmonized professional development of advisors and strengthens public protection.

A platform designed to evolve with industry needs

The Training Partner Area provides suppliers with an overview of their recognition applications, and enables them to follow every step of the process, from initial submission to final recognition. The information and documents provided remain on file, which considerably simplifies renewal requests.

This first version of the platform also lays the groundwork for the future addition of advanced analytical tools, which will help suppliers better fine-tune their offerings and respond more quickly to market needs.
